PetRecords Version 4 is Here!
Exciting updates are coming to Petrecords!
Hello everyone, and thank you for continuing to be great members of the PetRecords family!
In the year since we started this project, it has undergone many changes and advances in its technology. We are excited to continue to develop this project to make a better program that all of you, our Breeders, can use, enjoy, and enrich your lives. We have many exiciting changes to announce today, and will only focus on a few of the changes here. To view all of the changes that come with version 4 of PetRecords, please visit our changelog.
Announceing our new media manager!
The biggest feature to come to PetRecords in version 4 is the inclusion of our new media manager! The main componenet of our media manager is available under your website administration menu. From here, here you can see the total space you've used and how much your plan allots you. You can also see a list of every folder on your account, and every picture/file, along with their name and sizes. You can view and delete any file on your account from here.
You also will notice a media manager button included in your page and blog editor. From here, you can view files and add them into your content and pages without the need to continuously upload duplicate files.
Pet Transfer / Quality of Life Updates
With our media manager update came an update with the Pet Transfer utility. Previously, when you trasferred a pet, the images stayed in your account, but you lost access to them. The new pet owner could delete and view the pictures, but they counted against your accounts disk usage. We did not think this was the way it should work, and now, when you transfer a pet, the photos go with it. They will no longer count against your file usage.
Along with the photos moving out of your account, we also added a new feature to improve the quality of use with our software. Previoulsly, you had to mark a pet sold in the pets management page, but then you had to navigate to your clients, find the correct client, and transfer the pet to the new client from that page. While this option is still available to you, you can now transfer pets directly from their page after marking them sold and refreshing. We hope this decreases the amount of time you are required to navigate around the many pages of our software.
Updates to the invoicing system
We've added many updates to our invoiceing system. Previously, once you marked an invoice paid, our system marked the entire balance paid. This meant making several invoices for the same dog. One for the deposit, one for another payment (if payments were made) and one for the final payment. We've made this easier. You can now add multiple payments to the same invoice and the balance will update as you go. It will also show your client what their remaining balance is as well.
We've also added to ability for you to record the payment method your clients are using to pay you. This will help with your records should you ever need to get that info for taxes, to process a return, or to reference the transaction in the future.
While these are the major changes and updates to the software, there have been many more features added and bugs identified and fixed. In total, we've added over 35 new updates and bug fixes in this update. We hope these updates continue to give great value to you and improve the time you spend using this software.
